Alan Ryland and Doug Barber picked a good day to play their singles knockout final, a warm sunny day. The only challenge was the increasing brisk wind, but this proved not to be a significant problem for either player.
Alan teed off first and was giving 8 shots to Doug.
Hole 1
Both Alan and Doug hit excellent drives, each hitting the fairway. Doug had 120 yards to the pin but unfortunately hit a wayward second shot that left his ball at the side of the 4th tee. He pitched the ball reasonably well on to the green and putted out for 5.
For his second shot Alan had just 20 yards to the green, pitched up and 2 putted down for 4.

Hole 2
Once again both Alan and Doug hit really good accurate drives. Both took advantage of this and pitched up on to the green equidistance from the pin. Alan puts first and finishes in 4. Doug’s first putt was a little strong leaving him with a testing 4th put which he unfortunately missed, down for 5.
